Sr. Customer Quality Engineer

Reports to: Director of Quality

Policy: This position is guided by the SigmaTron Quality Policy and will maintain strict adherence to the Quality Management System.

Education: 4 year Technical Degree with 5+ years experience in quality systems and assurance.

Description: The Quality Engineer is the Quality representative with our customer.  In addition, is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving the organization’s quality system at all facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interfaces with quality professionals within our customer’s organizations to foster teamwork approach to address quality improvements.

  • Collects and summarizes performance data, identifies opportunities for improvement, leads internal audits and presents findings to Staff
  • Works with customers on supplier scorecard results and related improvements.
  • Improves the system for regular submission of customer quality reports.
  • Insures that new or changed product PPAPs, PSWs or FPIs are completed correctly and meet on-time delivery to customers
  • Responds to customer issues and Corrective Actions requests (SCARS).
  • Attends customer meetings on quality issues as needed.

  • Supports Spitfire quality staff at all production locations.
  •  
  • Monitors factory quality for adverse trends and continuous improvement.
  • Maintains quality records and documentation
  • Monitors cost of quality and potential warranty cost analyses and planning.
  • Works in the organization to achieve and maintain appropriate ISO, customer, regulatory or other required certifications.
  • Experience with ISO Implementation (Design) and audits is a plus.
  • Works with Program Managers to coordinate complying with new product quality activities.
  • Works with Suppliers to resolve quality issues or improve processes.
  • Conducts supplier quality self or on-site audits for new or problem suppliers.
  • Writes customer or regulatory material compliance reports as needed.
